What should you do with old, empty batteries?

Empty batteries do not belong in household waste. Batteries are classified as hazardous waste because they contain heavy metals. Therefore, used batteries must be disposed of properly. We are here to help if you’re unsure about the correct procedure.



Notes on Battery Disposal

In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, sellers are legally obligated to inform you of the following:

You are legally required as an end user to return used batteries. You can return batteries free of charge to the seller or to designated collection points (e.g., municipal collection centers or retail outlets). Alternatively, you can send the batteries back to the seller by post.

What does this mean for me?


Many stores provide special containers for used batteries. You can deposit empty batteries there. If you purchased batteries from us or if they were included with a product from us, you can return the batteries to us. We will reimburse you for the postage costs of returning your used battery.
